Simon Bunter's article 'Cognitive Bias in Fingerprint Evidence: Does the alleged 'matching' ridge detail event exist?' is now available HERE. In it, Simon discusses the methodology behind fingerprint examination and how cognitive bias can come into play. He outlines a solution to minimise the risk of bias and leaves lawyers better equipped to ask the right questions about how reliable the fingerprint 'identification' is in their case.
